Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as anchor of the morning news and as a crime reporter at WCBD-TV. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell was honored by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. After her time in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative reporter. Then she joined Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. Alongside her work as a lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and as well to Dateline NBC. She's been a reporter for The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
